Graduate Counselor Intern

Fred West

I believe that we were not meant to carry our heaviest burdens alone. Whether you are navigating the aftermath of trauma, the unique pressures of ministry, or the silent weight of life as a first responder, my goal is to provide a safe harbor where you can finally set that weight down. I work to help clients move from simply "surviving" to building a rich, meaningful life defined by their own values.

My journey to counseling is rooted in real-world service. Having served as a volunteer firefighter for over 10 years, I understand the pressure of having to be "the strong one" and the toll that silence can take. I have a specific heart for working with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, as well as pastors and ministry leaders who need a confidential space to be human rather than "The Shepherd."

As a Graduate Counselor Intern completing my Master’s at Liberty University, I offer a unique "Team Advantage." I work under the direct supervision of Charissa Langstaff, LCSW, which means you receive my dedicated focus backed by her 20+ years of clinical expertise. My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a practical method for helping you get "unstuck." For those who desire it, I am honored to integrate a Biblical worldview into our work.

Outside of the office, I am a husband and father of three. When I am not studying or seeing clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, off-roading, and cheering on the Detroit Lions.
